Peter D. Buckman, MD

Specialty: Thoracic Surgery

Dr. Buckman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1977 with a Bachelor's Degree. A Master's Degree in Microbiology was earned at the University of Connecticut in 1979, after which followed research at Yale University. Subsequently, Dr. Buckman received his Medical Degree from the University of Connecticut in 1986.

He completed his internship in General Surgery in 1987, and his General Surgery residency in 1992, both at the Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Training in Cardiothoracic Surgery was also performed at Thomas Jefferson, finishing in 1995.

Dr. Buckman is board certified in both General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery, and he has successfully completed recertification in both specialties.
